Collins McLaughlin is a string arranger, touring/session musician, composer and multi-instrumentalist currently based out of Nashville, TN. After studies in both jazz and classical performance at the University of North Texas, he has quickly become a sought-after musician and experimenter both in live music and the session world. From 2020 to 2023 he was on the road with GRAMMY nominated country artists like Sammy Kershaw, Collin Ray, Aaron Tippin and continues to join many other national acts on tour (Hailey Whitters, Jenna Paulette, Brit Taylor). Collins is very active in the Nashville recording scene as a violinist/violist/ and string arranger. Paying homage to the great composers, arrangers and innovators that inspire his work (George Martin, Joe Hisaishi, Maurice Ravel, Samuel Barber, Rob Moose), his writing and playing style embraces the flexibility, intricacy, and emotion a string section can bring to a project. In February 2022, Collins released his first full length album "The Better Part" Original Motion Picture Soundtrack which also doubled as his first feature length film score. The score was written, recorded, and engineered in a three month time span from is home studio. The film premiered on the big screen in Dallas at the historic Texas Theatre in December 2020.
